Birthday Champ!

This birthday card is one of my favorites! I made it for a very special little man who is also a die hard Yankees fan! In fact, he taught me everything that I know about baseball! He is turning 10 (DOUBLE DIGITS!) today and I thought that a little paper look alike of him in a Yankees uniform would be right up his alley.  Yes, the boy made out of paper came out pretty darn cute (if I do say so myself!) but it still doesn't hold a candle to its "real life" model! Anyway, here it is and.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY FAVORITE LITTLE YANKEES FAN!!!!
I am entering this card in a challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge where the challenge this week is "Anything but Square"
I hope you enjoy this card... I put an extra special dose of love into making it! :-)

Tie dye brightens any ol' day!

Well, this week's challenge at Fantabulous Cricut is to use the color YELLOW in a L/O or card.  The truth is that I often use yellow as the base color of my cards.  I find it is a very inviting color and always conveys a sense of cheeriness that is, in my opinion, of utmost importance for a good "just because" or "get well soon" card.  This card is 5x7 inches, so I have a nice amount of room to work with.  All of the paper I used was from my stash, but I think my absolute favorite element with this card is the "Tie Dyed" paper lace circle which serves as a mat to my sparkling butterfly "in flight."  I cut it from the paper lace cartridge on white paper and then used three separate distressing inks to give it that oh so groovy tie dyed look that I love so much!  I really loved making this card (though I think I should have done a little more with the ribbon other than just making a bow with it... but oh well, I am still learning.) I also really like the sentiment that I had in my stash, but I don't love the "handwriting" look to it.  I think it looks a little messy... but I just loved the sentiment too much to not use it!  Anyway, like I have said before... each card is a learning experience, and boy, what great time I am having learning!!!! :-)

Pink, Lime and White Birthday Card

Hi Everyone!
I haven't posted for any challenges recently, but A day or two ago I found two blogs that I liked and I just knew that I could make a birthday card to fill the requirements for both by making this sweet Pink, Lime and White Birthday Card!
The first blog is Birthday Sundaes and the challenge is to make a card with the Pink, Lime and White color scheme. And the second blog is Fantabulous Cruicut where the requirement is simply to make a birthday themed card.  I desided to go with this colorul easel style card.  And this time, I even stamped an envelope to coordiate with the card.  As I have mentioned before, I am relatively new to the crafting world, so each challenge is teaching me a lot as I create my submition.  Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy my card! I know that I for one LOVED creating it (these colors are some of my absolute favorites! Though, I am waiting for a purple theme to come up one of these days because it is my most favorite color of all!)
Anyway, enjoy, and I look forward to submitting more entries in the coming weeks!
